You will create a podcast much like the ones found on NPR.  The goal is to create a program that provides the audience with a present day issue and give them a historical context to frame their thinking. The site is Metropolitan Public Radio and the show is “History on the Go.”

Your group should act as a team of journalists overlapping themes of race, ethnicity and culture, explaining how they play out in our lives and communities, and how all of this is shifting.

Using the parts of a podcast that we brainstormed, and your group outline, you will create a 5-minute podcast. Your podcast should be posted to your blog with a transcript, header image, an additional photo with a caption, a quote highlighted, and link to additional information found in your show.

Ana Paula, Mencia, and Jocelyn: Great job. I love the facts you used. They were very interesting and grabbed my attention. The only thing, at the part where all the children were talking over the voice needed to be fixed. The interview with Mary was my favorite part of the interview because the interviewee sounded like the words were rolling off of her tongue and it wasn’t her first time reading the script. Other than that fabulous job with the interviews, introduction, and I absolutely loved the quote at the end.
