April is National Poetry Month

Today’s poem is a called a wave. It provides the rhythmic feel of ocean swells.  It should have at least three “waves”  to ensure the soothing pattern, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1.

What Jack Said

Cold

winter

coming on-

sends a shiver

up my spine.

Warm hands

hold me tight,

comforting,

keeping me safe.

She starts a

fire.

Hot

cinders

light the night.

We snuggle close,

I whisper

her name…

Em.
